I called into work this morning. My head was pounding. It still hurts, but it is no longer the blinding pain I thought I would die from this morning. I was going to go in around noon when I woke up and could move, but I really think I needed the rest. I haven't done anything productive; so, I feel like I wasn't playing hookie.
I should blog more, but I think some Tylenol is called for.

more annoying than anything...
I typed out a wonderful post earlier, and it's gone.
gone...
I just got home, and I was going to post more. Seeing this just drained me.
sigh...

getting back into the swing of things...
So, day 1... here's the pic to start it off with.
I have a membership to a gym about 15 to 20 minutes north of me. When I first got out of the Navy, I used to go on a regular basis, but then, I went to the ER with what I thought was knee pain. The doctor found two compression fractures on the top inch of my tibia, and I was sidelined. Well, then, I got used to not going. A few days ago, my payment for the gym came out. $51.68...
$51.68 for two people to use the gym... I pay for my mom and me to use it. There are 3 in Dayton.
$51.68... Why aren't I using this now?
Then, I got on the scale at work. It's what we use to ship UPS stuff. I could have died then.
So, today, I drove 20 minutes north out of my way, and guess what? I went to the gym. I'm going to go 5 days a week. No excuses. I got taped while I was there, and I was shocked. I mean, floored... How did I get like this?

the addictions of crafty people...
I have found that when I get in something that I don't do it half-heartedly. You know, it's all or nothing. Before I moved to Ohio, I was an avid scrapbooker. Every free moment I had was spent scrapbooking. I used to go to weekend get-a-ways to do it. Well, at the end of last year, I decided that I needed a hobby that didn't require me to pull out half of a closet. My husband had just left for good. (Long story, but we tried to reconcile 3 or 4 times before we got divorced.) I was looking to really quit smoking. So, I picked up knitting. So, now, every free second I have goes to that. I still love to scrapbook, but I haven't found time to pull all of it out. I find that knitting is so much easier and portable. So, today, after my fever broke, I needed to accomplish something, and boy did I?!? I reorganized all of my scrapbook stuff. Below is the list of things that I no longer need or want. Please feel free to look it over. See, I used to sell Creative Memories. It was something to support my habit. Now, I don't sell it. While I would still like to purchase the stuff I want at a discount, I just am not as addicted as I once was... It did feel good cleaning house so to speak.

not following any real pattern... just two rectangles... I couldn't figure out how to upload more than one pic, but I wanted you all to see.
01 October 2006
Well, I was supposed to go to church this morning....
Well, I was supposed to go to church this morning... Maybe supposed to isn't the world I want because I like going. Anyways... I was in a bit of a rush, and guess what? Yep, I tripped down my steps. My forehead met the windowsill, and then, there was blood. So, needless to say, I didn't go to church. (If you know me at all, you know I'm not exactly graceful, but damn, can't a girl catch a break?)
So, after being patched up, I took myself back to bed though I wasn't supposed to. I couldn't sleep deep enough so I got up and tried to watch that movie, Alexander, but not a good movie in my opinion. So, I knitted for a while. I am working on a baby blanket for Mike. It drove me over the edge yesterday. So, I got out this fabulouse Berroco Glace ribbon yarn. It's the color of blood. fits the mood, huh? Anyways... I'm about 1/3 of the way done with a fashion scarf for me. I don't make a lot of things for myself; so, I'm really excited about this.
You know, I can see now why people have so many UFO's... (UnFinished Objects) Some projects are knit with pretty small needles, and after a while, it can seem tedious. So, I promised myself after starting the new scarf that I was going to finish at least two of the current projects before starting a new one... They include...
beaded wire napkin holders for Mom... They are for Christmas. So far, I have only done one. I want to make 4 to 8 depending on how bad they ruin my bamboo 9 needles.
a poncho for me... It's absolutely gorgeous, but having frogged it once already and looking like I still didn't get it right, I had to stop.
a baby blanket for Mike... I promised him I would make one, but actually following a pattern instead of straight garter stitch for the first time is breaking my heart.
and the scarf... It's so red. I can't wait. I'll post pics when I have some.
Until then....
